Happy Mother’s Day!

Had a crazy busy week that included the start of softball season, a rugby tournament, work and the year-end banquet for Cheer!

Being that it is Mother’s Day, I am giving Danielle the day off… Yes it was a very busy week for Emelia—something she’s used to of late. It started Monday night with her first softball practice of the season. Tuesday, she was in an all-day rugby tournament in Stratford. They did okay – two games and a loss. She rolled her ankle in one of the games and it was sore enough that they made the decision for her to not play in the last game. Wednesday was rare night off so she focused on starting to move her furniture to the basement for her apartment space. She got a fair amount done that night. Thursday it was back to rugby and another injury—she got tackled pretty hard and ended up going down hard on her knee which while not more serious was sore all weekend.

As if all of that was not enough she had a rugby dinner Thursday night with all of her teammates. And then, on Friday the rugby girls got together yet again, but this time for a party hosted by one of her teammates. When Saturday finally came, it was the year-end banquet for her Cheer. She and Danielle went to banquet which puts the final bow on season 12. She’s already resigned herself to season 13 and back with her team Sovereignty. But, after the Cheer gala was done it was tight turn around as she was off to work at the theatre. And the last event on her already loaded week was her weekly shift at Gymworld as Coach-in-Training. And even though it left me feeling exhausted, she took it all in stride like she always does.

So suffice it to say Danielle and I were left spinning watching her week unfold. By the time the weekend came for us, one things was clear. With a Saturday shift opening and Sunday off we were going to get up to spend our first overnight at the trailer. And to celebrate Mother’s Day there today. As soon as I was done work Saturday we were packed and up at the trailer building a fire in a couple of hours. After getting some dinner, we spent the rest of the of the beautiful evening taking in the sunset from the vantage point of the fire pit which is one of the biggest reasons we love this site. There a bunch of reasons for sure, but easily every time we sit at the fire and enjoy the view and the quiet, we are so happy this site came up last year! It gives us so many things—most off all is the view from where we are, perched up on what we laughingly call Snob Hill.

Today we got a wonderful sleep-in before getting a start to the day today. It’s so quiet in this area of the park, both Danielle & I have some of the best sleeps at the trailer. At any rate, after we got up we got out on the bikes and back onto the G2G Rail Trail for a ride—something we hadn’t done since last fall. The weather was perfect and we had a great ride and then got back to the trailer where I made Danielle a Mother’s Day breakfast and ate it outside. After we were done eating we got a little more work of getting more of the site settled and season-ready. The trailer and site aside from a few odd things is ready for another amazing season.

We got back to town in the early afternoon and went over to visit Mom for Mother’s Day.

When you think about how busy the week was, it was the perfect to close out the week—especially for Danielle. She is the glue and the organization in our lives and does so with eternal grace and unyielding dedication. We know this day is hard on you, so we wish you an extra bit of time to unwind, reflect and just breathe. Love you and everything you do for both Emelia & I with zero hesitation.
