With this weekend being the Labour Day long weekend, we knew we should try and get in at least a night \u2013 if not two<\/i> \u2013 up at the trailer as the next three to four weeks are going to be quite busy for us. As luck would have it, I was done work at 7 p.m. on Saturday and had both yesterday and today off work, so it was all go for a weekend up at the trailer. We made a beeline for the trailer as soon as I was done work, minus the trip back to the house when we were almost out of town and I realized I had forgotten my tools that I would need to fix the main room roof vent fan. After that sidetrack, we were on our way and having burgers at the fire pit by 10:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The week we had up there a couple of weeks ago was littered with rain almost every single day. While we made the most of it and had a great time with our nieces and Emelia for the three days they were there with us, the forecast this weekend with no rain, sun, and seasonably warm temperatures had Danielle and I happy with the prospect. And that forecast is exactly what we got for both Sunday and today. We were able to get some sleeping in done as well as have late evenings at the fire pit catching up on life and enjoying each other’s company.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This upcoming week, Emelia whips back up into her second year of university, so a lot of the last week was her getting out with her friends for some last hurrahs to celebrate the end of summer break. Some of her friends, like Chelsea, are headed back off to Sarnia, so it was important for them to have a night together before she moved back. This weekend, a lot of the frosh week festivities kicked off with the students being back, so that was Emelia’s weekend in a nutshell. Well, that and work. On all counts, she had a great week and weekend mostly hanging out with her core group of friends and living her best life.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>For me today, it was my 55th birthday (and Labour Day to boot!). So we got up when we wanted to, without alarm clocks again for the second day! We had a bit of a slower start to the morning, and then we got out for a bike ride on the G2G \u2013 I know, one of my favourite things to do!!<\/i> And then when we got back from the ride, Danielle made me a wonderful big breakfast that refuelled us nicely after the ride. We had a bit of time to soak up the last bit of relaxing at the trailer before we packed up and came back home. Emelia got us passes to go see the Anthony Bourdain movie, so we will close out my birthday with a movie courtesy of Emelia!<\/p>\n

All-in-all, it was a perfect birthday weekend that included all of my favourite things: my two lady friends, the trailer, fire pit time, biking, and great weather. I couldn’t think of a better way to start my 55th year!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>She said<\/h1>\n

We had 2 glorious days and nights at the trailer. After a week of pretty crappy weather we were gifted this past weekend with perfect weather. We headed up when John was done work on Saturday and were up in time for a fire and supper. The entire weekend was all about relaxing, resting and recharging.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Today we had another perfect start of the day. What made today so special is that it is John’s birthday and we started the morning exactly the way John loves, riding the bike on the G2G. We did our normal 35K loop, the sun was shining and there was little wind. It made for a perfect morning. By the time we got back to the trailer we had John’s favourite camping breakfast and took our time before heading back home. Tonight we are going out to the movies together and will have the proper celebration this Saturday. For Father’s Day Emelia and I got him tickets to see the Jays play so as the perfect compliment for that gift his birthday gift is going shopping in the proshop to get himself a jersey. We cannot wait.<\/p>\n
