\"\"<\/a>Happy Father’s to the best daddy EVER!<\/h3>\n

After getting an entire weekend at the trailer last weekend, and knowing that in a week’s time we’d have a week of vacation up at the trailer, we approached this weekend with a play-it-by-ear<\/em> to get up there after work ended on Saturday at 5pm for an evening by the fire pit for us. The weather forecast for today (Sunday) was looking great there and at home. The trouble was Saturday had a bit of heavy rain in the forecast in the afternoon. When that rain came (and\u00a0boy<\/strong> did it) and left there was spotty rain forecasted for the evening both at home and at the trailer, we decided to call it and stay home. And, it was a good choice as we got to have a nice easy night at home.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Being here allowed me to get out with my Club for their weekly Sunday ride. With the focus on getting on getting up to the trailer every chance we had, and some bike races falling into the fold, I haven’t been out with the Sunday social club in some time. Today’s ride for the summer solstice was out to St Mary’s and back. As it was a remote start and near the house, I could ride to the start and the ride ended up topping out at 86+km. We had perfect weather and it was really great to be back out with my LCC bike friends! And when I got home, Danielle had an amazing (recovery<\/em>) breakfast ready for me!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>The week \u2013 Friday to be precise<\/em> \u2013 was a big milestone for one of Emelia’s besties, Bri. She finally crossed turned 19 and was now finally legal like Emelia. They were finally <\/em> able to got out to the bar together. They got together with friends at Bri’s house first and then headed out to the<\/em> place for kids their age to go, Delilah’s<\/a>. Emelia (and the girls) have been impatiently waiting for date to come so that they could all go out and been adults at a bar. By Emelia’s count it was a hilarious and successful night to celebrate Bri’s birthday, and for them to finally be able to go to the bar together. They ran into a whack of friends from high school which made the night even better.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This week we will start to get ready for a week at the trailer. But, before all that gets started, on Saturday, we kick our week off with the Noah Kahan concert in Toronto<\/a>. We’ve all been looking forward to this show since getting the tickets months ago. We will go to that next Saturday and then make our way back up to the trailer starting Sunday. And the best part about this week up there is our friend Dawn will be up to visit for a couple days. And our other friend Tim who is up visiting from his home in LA, will be there too! we haven’t see them both for a long time so it will be great to get them both out of their collective big cities and to easy going lifestyle of Auburn\u2014even if it’s only a couple of days. We will have the rest of the week there, so some this time next week, the vibe of the post is definitely gonna be more chill!<\/p>\n

She said<\/h1>\n

This week was another pretty chill week for our evenings for the most part, which I am so grateful because work has been so busy recently. There is a lot of change happening and although they are amazing changes the transitions between leadership has been a lot of work. Thankfully for me most of the work of last and this week is done which is perfect timing for our week off coming up.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Emelia continues to have a combination of busy with work, social life with her friends and taking advantage of the summer break. The big thing in Emelia, well her best friend’s life was this past Friday. Finally Bri is now 19 and it means she has her bestie to be her wingman at the bars. Emelia has a number of close friends who have early birthdays but the countdown has been on for Bri to be able to hit the bars with Emelia. Friday was the big party \u2013 there were friends from high school, Bri’s work and her older sister and her friends. They started out at Bri’s house before hitting Delilah’s a favourite Western bar. From all accounts they had the best time and Bri for sure lived her best life. Emelia sent pics of her and Carter, Bri posted pics of she and all her friend and Emelia showed me pics and stories that for sure should not see the light of day. So needless to say it was a perfect 19th birthday and Emelia is so happy her bestie can now go out with her whenever they want.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This week for us will be against more routine, Emelia has work, training and she is preparing for another cottage trip this time with her friends from Rugby. This time they are heading to Grand Bend for a couple days. Once she is back we are heading to the trailer and the big excitement for next weekend is the three of us going to Noah Kahan. He is one of our favourites and his lyrics really touched Eemlia when she was dealing with some really heavy stuff. We can hardly wait.<\/p>\n

And finally, today is Father’s Day. In the last few years this day has become even more important. In the last few years we have lost two of the most important men in our lives, Greg and Doug. It reminded us that tomorrow is never guaranteed. So today we celebrate John and the incredible father he is to our daughter. John has always been Emelia’s champion. She shares so much of his strong traits, she is strong, determined, feircly loyal and loves with all hear heart. John has always been that person for her and for his family. Today we had a quiet day, just letting John do what he loves. Out on a ride with his cycling friends and then an afternoon together. Nothing flashy, nothing over the top, quiet and us.
