We took a much need break from working on the house this week to get away to Pelee Island. And we passed a big milestone this week to boot!
Well… we’re not home yet. We’re still going to have to stay / freeload at Greg and Sherri’s for another couple of days at least. But we are very close to firing up the A/C and moving back home. Which is good cause I am sure Greg and Sherri would like their house back. Continue reading
This week, more than anything, we found out that the work in this reno is a steady line of dominoes – each job needing to be finished so the next could happen.
So… We got our deconstruction on this weekend. Hardcore.
Yup… still talking about renovations. But, this week we’re a lot further on. Also we got to meet Cordelia on Thursday night for the first time. And oh! we ordered cabinets for the kitchen – there’s no turning back now!
This week introduced us to two new people. Well… the newest one we have yet to meet: Cordelia arrived in the wee hours Friday May 19th in time for the long weekend. We’re hoping to get over to see her today or tomorrow. And the other is newish since it took us six months to get our schedules in the same direction. We finally got to meet Joshua, son of one our friends, Maryellen. He’s six months old, and quite an alright little dude.
Before we get knee deep in what we’re up to, we’d both like to send out a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers we know. Today is a special day where we get give a little back to those who sacrifice the most for us. Especially when you consider how we get here… and then add on the years of turmoil we give them from that point forward. 🙂
Well… Matthew and Shawn are back in town. And, we’re well into the design, planning and fretting stage for the kitchen and bathroom. And we’re trying again. Fun… Scary… And in the same breath. Cross your fingers for us all the way around.
