Kitchens and bathrooms away!

This week brings us new kitchens, new bathrooms, and the month we can start trying again!! Exciting times indeed for the third pod from the Mom…

Well this post comes composed a little earlier than normal. You see through interweb trickery, smoke and mirrors we sit here composing this on a Saturday night unbeknownst to you (save for me telling you) as opposed to our simple Sunday morning-ish, posting routine. But with a little change of the date under the title and you have been completely fooled! Well… if it weren’t for the fact that I plan on posting this as soon as we’re done too.

Tomorrow morning we’re up bright and early to strike out to the truck rental place to get a truck and then down to St Catharines with aforementioned truck to help Shawn and Matthew move their belongings back to London. Which is great news. You see in 2005 we lost another brother & family back to Niagara Region when David & Linda moved there when Linda got a job promotion. But 2006 brings back my little brother Matthew and his boyfriend, Shawn. So we’re happy to be gaining more family back here. It would be nice to have everyone, but you can’t as Mick Jaggah sez, always get what you want…

But wait! There’s other good news. However I won’t rob that glory from Danielle…

P.S. When I win the lottery. I am SO putting a Eucalyptus Steam Sauna in our basement. Just so’s yanno.

P.S.S. No! I haven’t sorted through the photos from Edmonton yet. I know, Je Suck! Soon though…

Yes, it looks like after nearly 6 years in our first home we are finally getting the kitchen and bathroom remodeled! The scope of the project is overwhelming at first, but exciting more than anything. I say this now while my line of credit still sits at zero and my house is still in one piece. I am guessing in August when we are knee deep in debt once again and in the middle of the remodel I might not be as excited – more likely begging for the light at the end of the tunnel.

However, the changes that the contractor is suggesting will change the kitchen into something we can actually be proud of.  So as I write this message I sit amongst kitchen magazines and the Kohler website in the background, we are going forward on the biggest remodel of our lives. Keeping in mind that we are supposed to keep our stress down as we start trying next month! Which we obviously have done by hiring a contractor to tear our house apart in August… But then again, when have we ever done things the easy way? Perhaps this is going to be the time that the pregnancy goes off without a hitch? If it was that easy we would have taken out walls 9 months ago…

I realize in re-reading this over it may sound like I am not excited – that would be the biggest understatement. Sometimes it is hard to believe after planning it over & over and hoping that some day we will have the kitchen we have always wanted… this will actually happen!!! The scope of it is huge, but to know as we are walking through Home Depot or Rona that we are not just looking like we have done a 100 times before… We are actually picking the items that will change the two rooms that we have wanted to change since they day we moved in nearly 6 years ago.  And that is exciting and scary in the same breath.

Wish us luck!
