We got our new uniforms for Cheer and I love them!

This week was a bit of a strange one that was really focused on an early Black Friday Sale and getting Danielle a bike so that she could match my proclivity for going fast and going far. But more on that later. This week also had me spending more days working outside of our store than in it. Wednesday I was down to our Conestoga for some training. Thursday, while I was in-store, I wasn’t in store as I had a PD day to catch up on some training to prepare for our big all Manager meeting offsite to plan around our team’s development on Friday. So before I knew it, it was today it was my first day back in store being a Manager since Monday. It was good to be back as it was a busy week with a lot of mind calories burned.
And speaking of burning calories, this week I continued to embrace the unseasonably warmer weather and keep my rides more outdoors than indoors which was awesome. It’s crazy to think that while only getting the GT bike in May this year, I have managed to rack up 4,121 km on it! With today’s snow and the much earlier sunset, I know that I am on very limited time, but the goal really is to be able to get in just one ride in December to close down on eleven months out of twelve this year. And, of course you know what the goal will be next year! (I am looking at you, February!). But the bigger part of the cycling year I want to celebrate is that I set a goal of trying out a bike race or event this year and I actually ended up doing five! I’ve already started mental-mapping out next year and I am hoping to at least match this year’s events.
This week, Thursday to be precise, is a very big day! Emelia, who hasn’t always had the most ease with school, has absolutely shone and found her place in high school. Where we worried last year how she would do being small fish in a big pond, she has flourished well beyond expectations getting great grades and making lots of new friends and trying new things to boot! Last week, we found out Emelia made Honour Roll for her average last year which was 87.5%! We’re so proud of her! And the ceremony for all of the students who achieved this is this Thursday. You can bet your tuchus we will be there!
Lastly, what I alluded at the start, was we got Danielle a new bike. Well… a new eBike. We weren’t necessarily intending to do this just yet, as the idea was to research over the winter and find something that we could get in the Spring when it made sense because she could ride it more. But, a Black Friday Sale rolled around and a deal with significant enough savings on the model of bike that Stephanie (of The Sherwood’s fame) has and loved, that we couldn’t pass up. So before we knew it, our plans on Saturday turned into a trip down & back to Toronto to pick up her new eBike. The part I am most excited about is we will be able to do a lot more riding together, and longer distances. She will have less hip pain, and even less guilt about her perceived notion of dragging me down. I can’t wait until we can get out and I can take her on the bigger rides I do—both here in London and up at the trailer on the G2G!
